The waterfront along the bay is the privileged playground of children: swimming is safe and the waters are calm. The sand at low tide is a treasure trove of discoveries, from crab fishing to shell fishing.

Every beach is unique. In the villages, the ice cream stalls are just a stone’s throw from the beach, while the tip of the peninsula or secluded coves ensure a more private atmosphere. Mimbeau beach, for instance, is an outstanding area of natural beauty, a crescent-shaped stretch of sand extending from the centre to the tip of the peninsula.

The bay area offers many local activities and water sports set against the ever-changing landscape of the Ile aux Oiseaux and the Dune du Pyla.
